AMITIE - Awareness on MIgration, developmenT and human rIghts through local partnErships
On June 24th, and August 26th, 2011 two Focus Groups having immigration as main topic were organized within AMITIE project - Awareness on MIgration, developmenT and human rights through local partnErships. 14 and respectively 15 persons of the NGOs who operate in the field of migration and human rights, nationals of third countries (RTT) with residence in Romania but also citizens of the European Union participated.
The two events debated in detail the issue of the access of RTT on the labor market but also topics such as education, social insurances and social- cultural integration difficulties. The Focus Groups are part of a series of 6 events which will be organized by APEL within the project in question until the beginning of October 2011. The following meeting will take place on September 19th, the details being available to the interested parties on the web site of APEL Association and on the Facebook page of the association as well. .
I learn, I work, I can be independent!
10 waiter qualification diplomas were handed over after the conclusion of the course certified by CNFPA by 10 post-institutionalized youths, beneficiaries of the " I learn, I work, I can be independent" Project in August 2011.
The Project, representing the initiative of APEL and financed with the help of the Soros Foundation was carried out for a period of 10 months, October 1st, 2010 – July 31st, 2011 and had as result the provision of services of counseling, mediation and employment of youths of foster care centers subordinated to DGASPC District 5 and Ateliere fara Frontiere. Access to All on an Inclusive Labor Market
Between June – August 2011 three trips on the field were taken to Ialomita county (Slobozia, August 2011), Prahova county (Ploiesti, July 2011) and Teleorman county (Alexandria, June 2011) in order to provide on the site services of counseling and mediation on the labor market for disadvantaged persons. Thus, more than 280 beneficiaries were contacted in the meetings carried out by APEL and HRS and more than one third showed up.
The persons were informed regarding the possibility of participating, free of charge, to a training course financed by means of the Access to All on an Inclusive Labor Market Project, receiving at the same time further information regarding the existing workplaces of the counties in question. The following meeting will take place in Calarasi on September 23rd, 2011, and further information will be available as soon as possible on the web site of APEL or on our Facebook page.
The Award granted to the President of Serviciul Apel Association
The President of Serviciul Apel Association, Francesco Aloisio, was awarded the Knight of the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity.
The main reason for granting the Knight Order to Mr. Francesco Aloisio was the daily employment in favor of disadvantaged social groups, its involvement in the homeless children and youth problem by means of cultural alternatives, thus contributing to a greater sensitization of the public opinion and of the institutions regarding key themes for a continuous development of the country.
